Terms of Use
Last updated: 23rd October 2026
These terms cover the use of this website, qsetc.uk. By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, please stop using the site.
They do not cover work we carry out for clients. That is governed by our appointment documents and terms of engagement, which are agreed separately.

This site is not professional advice
This is the most important thing on this page, so it is near the top.
Everything on this site is general information about what we do. It is not a cost estimate, a cost plan, a valuation or professional advice of any kind, and it must not be relied on as though it were. Figures, ranges, scheme values and stage descriptions are illustrative and depend entirely on the circumstances of an individual project.
Cost advice from us is given only under a written appointment, to a named client, for a named scheme, and on the assumptions set out in the document itself. Nothing on this site creates an appointment, a retainer or a duty of care.
Past projects shown on this site are included to illustrate our experience. They are not a promise of a particular outcome, cost or programme on any other scheme.
Using the site
Access is free and you do not need an account. You are responsible for arranging your own access, including your own device and internet connection.
Please use the site lawfully. In particular, please do not:
-
Use it for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose
-
Introduce viruses or anything else designed to cause harm
-
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its server or any connected system

Some of the above may be a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990. We will report any such activity to the police and cooperate with them, including by disclosing your identity. Your right to use the site ends immediately.
Our content
All text, images, diagrams, layout and code on this site belong to us or are used under licence, and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights.
You may view the site in a browser, print pages from it, and save or download pages and extracts for your own reference. You must acknowledge us as the source.
You may not republish, sell, licence or otherwise reuse our content commercially, or present it as your own, without our written permission. Please ask, and we will usually say yes.
Linking to us
You are welcome to link to any page on this site, provided you do so fairly and lawfully, and do not suggest an association, endorsement or approval that does not exist.
Please do not frame or embed the site within another site without our written permission, and please do not link to us from a site containing unlawful, offensive or discriminatory material.
Links to other sites
Where we link out to another website, that is for information only. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for their content or their handling of your data.
Availability
The site is provided as it is and as it is available. We may change, suspend or withdraw it, or any part of it, at any time and without notice. We do not guarantee that it will always be available or uninterrupted.
We take reasonable care to keep the site accurate and up to date, but we do not guarantee that it is complete, accurate or current.
Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
Subject to that, and to the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of this site, from being unable to use it, or from relying on anything on it.
This site is aimed at businesses and organisations. If you use it in the course of your business, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of contracts, loss of goodwill, business interruption, or any indirect or consequential loss.
This clause does not affect our liability under a written appointment for professional services. That is dealt with in the appointment itself, and is covered by our professional indemnity insurance.
Viruses and security
We take reasonable care to keep the site free from viruses and other harmful material, but we cannot guarantee it. You are responsible for protecting your own device and data.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page at the time you use the site is the version that applies, so please check back occasionally. The date at the top shows when we last changed anything.
Law and jurisdiction
These terms, and any dispute arising from them or from your use of this site, are governed by the law of England and Wales, and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Complaints
If something on this site concerns you, please email sarah@qsetc.uk and we will look into it.
