Overview
517-523 Fulham Road is a four storey building with a basement, on the south side of Fulham Road close to the junction with Britannia Road. The scheme converts the first to fourth floors into seven private apartments and keeps the basement and ground floor in commercial use. The site is 0.29 hectares.
The apartments are one one bedroom and six two bedroom, one of them built to M4(3) with the extra area that requires. Six free standing steel balconies are added to the rear elevation, with doors replacing windows to reach them. The existing external metal fire escape staircase is removed and replaced by a brick faced extension and a slate tiled mansard roof extension.
At street level the shopfronts are retained and a new residential entrance is formed in place of one of the commercial windows, set back to line through with the adjoining commercial entrance.
What we did
QSetc prepared an Indicative Cost Estimate in February 2025 for the conversion of the upper floors and the extensions, with the commercial floorspace retained.
